Family Counseling
Every family has its own rhythm — and sometimes that rhythm gets out of sync. When stress, change, or misunderstanding take hold, it can be hard to feel connected or heard. Family therapy offers a space to slow down and listen differently, rebuilding trust and understanding across generations.
I support families navigating neurodivergence, queer identity, and communication challenges, helping parents and kids feel seen, supported, and safe together.
Who this work is for
Family therapy can be helpful for families who want to:
Strengthen communication and understanding between parents and children
Support a neurodivergent or queer child in a way that honors their identity
Navigate transitions such as divorce, blending families, or launching teens into adulthood
Heal from conflict, disconnection, or old patterns that still impact the present
Build more empathy and teamwork within the family system
How we will work together
Family therapy isn’t about assigning blame — it’s about understanding the patterns that shape how your family relates and learning new ways to communicate.
I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and somatic approaches to support families in finding safety and connection. We’ll focus on slowing conversations down, noticing what’s happening beneath the surface, and helping each person feel more seen and understood.
Sessions are collaborative and flexible. Sometimes we’ll meet as a whole family, and other times I may meet with individual members or parents to strengthen specific relationships and skills.
Families grow and change, and it’s okay to need support along the way. You don’t have to navigate those shifts alone.
Whether you’re rebuilding trust, learning to communicate with more compassion, or supporting a neurodivergent or queer child, family therapy can help your home feel safer and more connected for everyone.
